Personal Statement
Gwen Collmann is a dual graduate from the University of Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1993 and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing in 1999. She is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Certification Board of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Associates. She is a Fellow Member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners. Gwen is also an affiliate member of the National Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses. Gwen is also certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS). As a PMHS, Gwen has acquired additional knowledge to evaluate, treat, and manage many common behavioral and mental health concerns within primary care settings.
Through the University of Texas, Gwen has been trained in the Touchpoints model of development created by renowned T. Berry Brazelton, M.D. Touchpoints is an interdisciplinary, relational, and developmental model of providing health care. Anticipatory guidance is tailored to the child's temperament and developmental level and a supportive relationship is nurtured between the practitioner and the parent.
Gwen and her husband have three children and are members of Triumphant Love Lutheran Church.
