Personal Statement
Dr. Sarmiento was born in Lufkin and attended Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2003, followed by a Master of Science in Biology from Mississippi College in 2012 and a Doctor of Medicine in 2016 from The University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio.
He began his pediatric medicine career at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in New Hampshire, completing a pediatric residency in 2019, but recently returned to Texas to be closer to his family. Though he relished meeting new families and practicing hospital medicine, Dr. Sarmiento’s true passion is community medical outreach and relationship-based primary care. He looks forward to seeing patients at the Dripping Springs location and being a part of the Beansprout family.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Sarmiento enjoys teaching and mentoring young people, as well as participating in missions abroad and at home. He also enjoys running, swimming, mountain biking and spending time with his wife, son, daughter and extended family.
